22 Shops Burnt to Ashes in Rohingya Slum


Twenty-two shops were burnt to ashes in Teknaf's Leda Rohingya slum area. It resulted in loss of approximately 20 million taka. Teknaf visited the place of the executive officer of the Upazila Executive Officer.  
It is known that at around 8:15 pm, a fire started from the electric short circuit from Tea and grocery stores of Abbas, son of one Dudu Mia of local Moray Para in Leda unnamed Rohingya slum of Hannala Union of the district, and spread quickly around the market. Some of the existing local and Rohingyas were able to control the fire, but at least 22 shops were burnt down. Nurul Huda, a local member of the local area, is suspected that the loss of cash, goods and furniture can be estimated at Tk 20 lakh. However, no casualties occurred in this. Although the fire service reached the venue late.  
Teknaf Upazila Executive Officer Zahid Hosson Siddique, Special Police Officer of Police Police Station visited the spot after the news of the fire.
