Prime Minister's Suggestion of Saving Power

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today inaugurated four new power plants from Ganobhaban and announced 10 upazilas of 100 percent electrified.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has advised everyone to be economical in using electricity. He said, "We are giving electricity at a much lower price than the cost of electricity generation. So everyone will be cost effective to use this power. Do not waste any electricity.

The Prime Minister said this while inaugurating four new power plants including two solarons and 10 percent electrified electrified through video conferencing from her official residence Ganobhaban on Sunday morning.

Four new power plants are Shikalbaha Combined Cycling Power Plant, Chapainawabganj Power Plant, Shalla Solar Power Plant and Sarishbari Solar Power Plant. There are 10 upazilas in the district, Faridpur Sadar, Rajoir, Naogaon Sadar, Kamarkand, Akhaura, Brahmanbaria Sadar, Shalikha, Meherpur Sadar, Madan and Belab.

Prime Minister's energy adviser Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury and State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid Bipu spoke at the program from Ganobhaban.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq, President of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Power and Energy Ministry Md. Tajul Islam, Saudi Arabia Ambassador Abdullah HM Mutairi, Kuwait Ambassador to Bangladesh Adel Mohammed AH Hayat, Director General of Saudi Export Program Ahmed Al Ghani and Saudi Fund for Development Advisor Abdullah Al Sedki were also present.

Power Division Secretary Ahmed Kayakus presented the picture of the progress of the country's power sector through Power Point presentation and PM's Chief Secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury conducts video conferencing.

Later, the Prime Minister interacted with local people, Awami leaders and administrative officials through the video conferencing.
